Hi i`ve got an 04 Vectra with VDO stamped cluster but unable to determine which chip to read from any help on this guys is appreciated

the chip u are looking for is a 93c66 eeprom

were u see the lcd that displays mileage

its under the plastic so u will have to take needles off

Twist off needles . dont for get osc on other side of pcb. take off the white lcd carrier and lay lcd screen flat.

will it be behind the lcd carrier as i did remove the needles but found nothing that side Confused

Thanks guys seen it now just below the carrier but has to be reomoved to enable the clip to go onto the eeprom

its easy to remove carrier. lift over lcd and unclip the 4 clips. with care its easy . clip osc. no need to remove eeprom.#

its silver oblong shape. got 3 points each side.


I Cant remember where it is cos im too bloody old and also on the dp3
you dont need to piss about clipping osc.

hi the chip looks like the attachment at top which says chip

its the silver thing with 2 small pins and 1 fat 1

u need to bridge the 2 small 1's

its on the opposite side of board i.e backside

front is were lcd and eeprom is

hope it helps

Thanks hcip but this is on an 04plate the one i'm doing is different its a 56plate bannybasher know's what i mean but he can't remember where it is i wish i had taken pics of the clocks now like these in this topic...!.!.!

I'm guessing it should be in the same place as the one on this page just as bannybasher described it as a chip not a silver chrystal.....?
