| odometer on jaguar s type is hard to read if i replace with another odometer with slightly higher miles with the old miles record or is it going to be the miles from the new speedo |

What year is your car? The odo will show whatever is in the cluster. It will not read from somewhere else. But if it's a pre-2003 model the car will not start because of the immo code. You have two ways to make it work: you can clone the data from the old cluster to the new one but it has to be the same version or you install the new cluster and program it with the NGS tool (Original Ford diagnostic equipment; this car is Lincoln LS based vehicle and therefore uses Ford PATS immo system). The proper way is of course to use the NGS.
