Yes, both miles and hours can be done. To the question whether you can do it yourself or not, I couldn't answer since I don't know if you have the proper equipment. It requires a Motorola microcontroller programmer and enough knowledge to correctly play with the right hex codes and alter those values.

Hi Serge,
I changed the hex codes on the line from 0074ch to 00798h. When I power-up the dash, km didn't change. I re-read, the file got the new hex codes I put in. Mine is an 05 F350 diesel. What have I done wrong?
Regards
Edmond.. |

| MMM...very strange! Your hex codes seem to be correct. I've never worked on this particular model but the idea of an active backup memory that will show the old number is unlikely. I've done many gas version and never had a problem. I'll be surprised if the flash contained something but you never know. The main code (12A3 here) changes every 128 miles (o r205kms). According to your file I see that the next main code change is in 79 miles (or 127kms).If I were you I would drive the car for 80 miles to see what happens. But I have to admit this still sounds weird and very odd to me. |

Thanks for the reply, Serge. I did changed the Hour & Km Hex codes on its respective lines anyway & left the dash back to the truck. Not only it didn't changed the hour & Km, nothing seem abnormal! As per your instruction, the truck will be back for another go after driven for at least 250km. Then I will see what happen.
Just for your info, at one time I did zero the whole file. When I power-up the dash the km still show & show the same KM. Isn't the LED display will show nothing when there is nothing in the file? |

Actually there are only a few (old) dashes that have the mileage burnt into the display driver. However I don'tthink it's the case here. Whatever it is that shows that mileage will have to take from the eeprom at some point. If nothing changes after driving the distance you're mentioning, could you email me the full dump (eeprom+flash)?

Okay, I got another same 05 F350 Dash. This time I was unable to read the Eeprom with device MC9s12DG128 but I could read the Flash.
According to the info. I got it said the MCU was an 9s12DG128. I was very suspicious about the info. I did not physically look at the 05 F350 MCU but I did one time looked at an 06 Freestar and it was an 9s12H128. I had had no problem with Freestar so I used device 9s12H128 to Read & Re-programmed the 05 F350. Everything worked out Excellent. |

| The new Fords with 9S12 micros are H series and not DG or DT. So you did the right thing. |
