If you are sure you have not corrupted the eeprom I suggest that you pull out the cluster again, take the eeprom off the board, program it but do not solder it to the board yet. First, install the cluster the back in the car (without the eeprom on it!) and turn the ignition ON. The display should show you "error" now. Pull out the cluster again, go solder the eeprom back to the board and install the cluster in the car. Now you should not have any problem.
