i want to correct the mileage on my car but dont know what type of hardwae i need to buy in order to do so. ive been searching around and found an odb-2 tool and i was thinking, if it can turn off the engine light then it can correct the mileage. is it possible to correct my mileage with the odb tool and if not where can i get the right hardware needed.

Hello,
If you want to correct the odo value through the OBDII plug it's no problem...now these programmers will cost you between $7000 to $13000. If it's for your personal car it's better for you to have it done by somebody else. You can also buy a simple eeprom programmer and try to program the eeprom that stores those values but you will have to get the hex codes from somebody if you can't calculate it by yourself; in the end and overall it's gonna cost the same or little bit more than you would pay a guy to take care of it.
